What We Do
Home Inspections
The process of having a home inspection is a
critically important one. Many buyers purchase their home on
impulse for various reasons and find themselves suffering from
buyers remorse upon discovering serious flaws in
the home itself. At Dr.Tom, we
provide our customers with the tools and information they need to
make an intellectually based decision regarding the condition
and quality of their potential new home or the
current home they are wishing to sell, we
inspect for common
home defects and not so common ones. By
hiring an experienced Virginia home inspector who has your best
interest solely in mind, our customers are better
able to judge the weaknesses and strengths of
the home in which they are under contract to buy or sell
and help avoid home
buyer's remorse. We will inspect the structure, exterior, drainage, roof, plumbing, electric, heating, thermostats, ac, interior and fireplace. We will also inspect the smoke
alarms as an added service to our customer. We will provide home
maintenance suggestions and safety
tips. Our web site also provides information
about Virginia septic inspections, a Walk
through home inspection checklist, what
to look for when you look for a home and a
list of Questions
to ask during a home inspection.
All customers of Dr.Tom are
encouraged to attend their home
inspection, they also have the option of receiving a subscription
to our quarterly
news letters and a custom type written report
detailing our observations, what is wrong, why
it is wrong, what do about it and
recommendations of useful upgrades to the
property systems. The report tells you so in plain
English if items are found that are
unsafe, hazardous or require further evaluation
by an expert. Our report is designed to help
you save money as well provide peace of mind in
your new investment. Other test we also provide areradon

Money
Let's put things in perspective: If you're
buying a $350,000 home and the inspection fee is
$600, that's .172% of the cost of the
home! The cost of a Virginia home
inspection is a bargain! If the
inspection turns up little wrong with the home
(few do), you've bought some relatively
inexpensive mental security. If the
inspection finds serious problems (most do),
then the few hundred dollars you invest in our
home inspection could end up saving you many
thousands of dollars.
