Home Inspections

Prior to creating Dr. Tom, LLC., Thomas worked as a construction project manager where he coordinated the renovation and construction of residential, commercial and industrial buildings as well as and single and multi-family dwellings. Also he worked with the J.C.Penney company managing all building maintenance and construction of all stores in the state of Virginia. With over 35 years experience with renovating, inspecting homes and commerical buildings, Thomas Neilan is one of the most experienced, Home Inspectors in Virginia. Tom Jr. has completed over 900 home inspections with job training for insurance companies, realtors and classroom instruction.
We realize buyers are most concerned about the roof, structure, heating systems, electrical systems and sometimes above all a dry basement. Those areas in particular are meticulously judged, but we make sure other areas that may be of some concern to you sre also ascertained durring the inspection. If items are found that are unsafe, hazardous or require further evaluation by an expert, the report tells you so also in plain English. Our report is designed to help provide peace of mind to you while saveing money as well in your new investment.

Since 2005, Dr. Tom, LLC. has been providing its Virginia clients with professional, affordable, clean contracting services. Thomas Neilan has over 35 years of general contracting experience offering clients unbiased and thorough certified contracting services in Virginia.
Prior to starting Dr. Tom, LLC., Thomas was a engineer with the U.S. Army, then worked as a construction manager where he coordinated the construction of single and multi-family dwellings as well as construction and renovation of commercial and industrial buildings. After that he also oversaw as well as preformed all the building maintenance and construction for Virginia Power, formerly known as VEPCO. Also he worked with the J.C. Penney company managing all building maintenance and construction of multiple stores. With over 35 years experience with inspecting homes, renovating homes and commerical buildings, Thomas Neilan is one of the most experienced, General Contractors in Virginia.
Tom Jr. has worked his entire life in this line of work. He spent years working with various electrical, painting, masonary, HVAC, drywall, telecommunications and cable TV contractors just to name a few, spent years preforming maintenance, oversaw all the technical maintenance for J.C. Penny company, completed over 900 home inspections and repairs for insurance companies, realtors and on the job training.
